Barbara Phillips, 58, of Marshall, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center. Born April 16, 1953, in Dent County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil A. Land Sr. and Lola Mae Brookshire Land. She was a 1971 graduate of Marshall High School. On Jan. 21, 1972, in Sedalia, she married Roy L. Phillips who survives of the home. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and retired in 2008 from the Division of Family Services.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Laura Christine Resor and her husband, Robert, of Wichita, Kan.; one son, Brian Randall Phillips and his wife, Melissa, of St. Charles; seven grandchildren, Joshua, twins Brittany and Breanna and Brandon Resor, Tyler, Carter and Gillian Phillips; five brothers, Glen Land of rural Miami, Eldon Land of rural Carrollton, Virgil A. Land Jr. of Slater, Gene Land of Marshall and Bobby Land of rural Carrollton; four sisters, Mary Lee Wright of Wynne, Ark., Connie Stout of Michigan City, Ind., Margaret Land of rural Carrollton and Helen Rader of Marshall; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family, Terrie Woodsmall, Sharon Mills, Carolyn Green, Judy White and Marva Pointer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Faye White, and one brother, Charles Land.
