Gladys L. Jordan, 70, of Gilliam, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Slater, with Rev. Forrest Oberg and Rev. Bruce Hess officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Shiloh Cemetery near Marshall. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at the church. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice in care of Weiker Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 13, 1941, in Slater, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Mildred Yates Reynolds Scarborough. On April 30, 1958, in Marshall, she married Harold O. Jordan, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1989. She was a lifelong resident of Saline County, and retired from Banquet Frozen Foods in Marshall.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Jordan of Slater and Harold Jordan Jr. of North Kansas City; three daughters, Carol Crank of Martinsburg, Penny Wolfe of Slater and Brenda Monroe of Kansas City; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five brothers, Danny Scarborough, Tommy Scarborough, Rusty Scarborough, Timmy Scarborough and Jimmy Scarborough, all of Marshall; three sisters, Patricia Wilckens, Nancy VanBuskirk and Judy Frakes, all of Marshall; and her long-time companion, Gene Cott, of the home.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Everett Scarborough; a son, Joe Jordan; four brothers, Vernon Reynolds Jr., Charlie Reynolds, Joe Scarborough and John Scarborough; and three sisters, Imogene Gordon, Sarah Scarborough and Margaret Reynolds.
