Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Blackburn, with Pastor Andy Mockridge officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery. Born Sept. 5, 1928, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Auty Carson and Ruth Wilson Carson from Holden. On Feb. 26, 1945, in Kansas City, she married James Elmer Gregory who preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1996. She had lived in the Blackburn area most of her life and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the La-Saline Extension Club. She spent her time raising her children and assisting her husband with their family business, Blackburn Building Supply. In retirement she enjoyed making quilts and "Raggedy Ann and Andy" dolls for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Sue Dial and her husband, Alvin, of Blackburn; two sons, James Robert Gregory and his wife, Bonnie, and Roger Lee Gregory and his wife, Ruth, of Blackburn; six granddaughters and their husbands, Sharla Wright and her husband, Earl, Leslie Dierking and her husband, Craig, all of Blackburn, Amy Tracy and her husband, Steve, of Waverly, Angela Nelson and her husband, Steve, of Gretna, La., Amanda Tinoco and her husband, John, of Alma, and Stephanie Keller and her husband, Daniel, of Slater; one grandson, Kurtis Gregory of Marshall; 10 great-grandchildren, Aaron Wright, Cody Dierking, Alyssa Tracy, Logan Tracy, Carson Tracy, Abigail Nelson, Audrey Tinoco, Adrian Keller, Jessica Keller and Alysin Keller; one brother, Harlan Carson and his wife, Lois, of Pleasant Hill; three sisters-in-law, Doris Hamer of Grain Valley, Ellen Witter and Ann Green, of Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Elaine Gregory; three sisters, Mary Smith, June Hurr and Jean Renick; and two brothers, James Carson and Arthur Carson.
