Euladeen Evelyn Bernard, 81, of Sweet Springs, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Sweet Springs Villa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs, with Rev. David Goode and Rev. Jim West officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Born Feb. 17, 1930, in Collins, she was the daughter of the late Millard Boren and Eleanor O'Hare Boren. On Nov. 3, 1949, she married Derl Bernard who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2008. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She had served as Saline County presiding commissioner in 1979 and served as chairperson for the Saline County Republican Committee.
Survivors include three sons, Bob Bernard and Alan Bernard, both of Sweet Springs, and Kevin Bernard of Sedalia; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Jean Dautherey of Arlington, Texas; one brother Ervin Dale Boren of Flemington; one sister-in-law, Olena Boren of Raytown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Bernard; two brothers, Millard (Buster) Boren and Raymond Boren; one sister, Georgia Braungardt; and stepmother, Betsy Boren.
