Randy Dean Apel Jr., 29, of Marshall, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Randy Huff officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born Dec. 6, 1981, in Waverly, he was the son of Randy Dean Apel Sr. of Marshall and Vicki Doud Apel Surber of Marshall. He had lived in Marshall most of his life and was a 2001 graduate of Marshall High School. He had worked at Marshall Habilitation Center as a developmental assistant.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Clarissa Leimkuehler of rural Marshall and Misty Downs of Marshall; one step-sister, Melinda Surber of Boonville; one step-brother, Michael Surber of Marshall; and his maternal grandmother, Maxine Combs of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jerry Surber; maternal grandfather, Jim Combs; and paternal grandmother, Frances Apel.
