Donald Wayne Roettgen, 68, of Marshall, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Memorial services with military rites were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Born Dec. 28, 1942, in Saline County, he was the son of the late George Roettgen and Marie Johnson Roettgen. On Aug. 18, 1967, he married Gladys Wright who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall for several years working at International Shoe Company, Wilson's, Banquet Foods and then retired from Marshall Habilitation Center where he worked in the group homes. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Alan Roettgen of Boonville, Debbie Roettgen of Sedalia, Tammi Agee of Odessa, Sharon Roettgen of Franklin, Crystal Farrington of Chillicothe; step-children, Linda Summers and Cheryl Parsons, both of Lenexa, Kan., Mike Sickman and Gary Sickman, both of Kansas City; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Wilder of Marshall and Dorothy Howard of Oklahoma; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter,Theresa Fleming; a grandson, Kenneth Clyde Johns III; and one brother, Clarence (Bud) Roettgen.
