Margie McDaniel, 82, of Marshall, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, with Fr. Kevin Gormley officiating. Prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with visitation following from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born July 26, 1929, in Nelson, she was the daughter of the late Tom Gillespie and Louise Benedick Gillespie. She was a 1948 graduate of Mercy Academy in Marshall. On Sept. 11, 1948, at St. Peter Catholic Church Rectory, she married Harold McDaniel who survives of the home. They shared 63 years of unconditional love. She lived in Marshall most of her life and retired from Lake City Remington Arms Company working there from 1962 to 1980 where she was a foreman of quality control. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, its Altar & Rosary Society and Daughters of Isabella. She loved to go to church, always prayed for her family's devotion, and her prayer books were used several times a day. Margie had a strong love for each one in her family. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting and playing bingo.

In addition to her husband, Margie is survived by two sons, Dale McDaniel and his wife, Linda, of Marshall, and Joe McDaniel and his wife, Robin, of Lee's Summit; six grandchildren, Craig McDaniel and Brian McDaniel, both of Marshall, Katie, Cara, Ben and Matthew McDaniel, all of Lee's Summit; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by two sons in infancy; and two brothers, Charles Gillespie and John Gillespie.
