Alvin Ray Hursman,70, of Higginsville, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at Pisgah Cemetery in Elmwood. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hoeferfuneralhome.com.
Born Thursday, Nov. 14, 1940, in Sweet Springs, he was the son of the late Walter Lee Hursman and Margaret Mae Hayes Hursman. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and was employed by General Motors as a motor setter.
He is survived by sons, Tony Ray Hursman and his wife, Marty, and Matthew Hursman and his wife, Monica, all of Higginsville; daughters, Penny Curtis and Kerry Thompson of Grain Valley, and Dana Hursman of Higginsville; four brothers, Bluford Hursman, Harold Hursman, Eddie Hursman and Jerry Hursman; three sisters, Rosie Garrison, Ruby Garrison and Shirley Burnett; 11 grandchildren; and four great grand children.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Hursman and Jimmy Hursman and one sister, Zelma Hall.
