The Prosecuting Attorney of Saline County charged Saline County Sheriff's Deputy Bradley O'Neal with third degree domestic assault on Sept. 18.
Another deputy responded to a call regarding a fight in progress on Sept. 18. Witnesses stated O'Neal allegedly struck the victim multiple times in the ribs and the stomach, according to a Saline County Sheriff's Department report.
O'Neal fled the scene before the deputy arrived, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in conducting a search.
O'Neal voluntarily revealed himself to law enforcement less than an hour later. The deputy arrested O'Neal, who expressed confusion about the arrest, according to a report.
Bond was set at $1,500.
