Charles E. Dehn, 94, of rural Marshall, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at his son's home in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Saline County Fairgrounds. Born Sept. 17, 1916, in Slater, he was the son of the late Edward Dehn and Caroline Eckert Dehn. On June 9, 1951, he married Virginia Louise Sleeper who preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 1999. He had lived in Saline County his entire life and was a lifelong farmer. He was a 1933 graduate of Napton High School where he had served as a longtime board member. He enjoyed dancing at Saline County Fairgrounds and was an avid grower of gladiolus.
Survivors include three sons, Roger Dehn and his wife, Patsy, of rural Marshall, George Dehn and his wife, Bea, of Marshall, and Russell Dehn and his wife, Sally, of Fayette; one daughter, Mary Durham and her husband, Garry, of rural Gilliam; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; one sister, Caroline Hahn of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
