Maryville- United Producers Inc.: Cattle Auction Open, Mid-Session, and Close for 09/06/2011

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Receipts: 1005 Two Weeks Ago: 1353 Last Year: 1539

Compared to two weeks ago, the bulk of Tuesday's sale were yearling feeder
steers weighing over 800 lbs that sold steady to 2.00 higher, with and
attractive offering of black hided steers selling mostly in pot load lots.
All other classes of steers and heifers sold in small lots and odd packages
were lightly tested and not a good comparison with the previous sale. Cooler
temperatures and higher feeder and live cattle futures help support yearling
cattle in Tuesday's auction. Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly 2.00-5.00
lower than two weeks ago and made up near 10 percent of the receipts. The
feeder supply included 85 percent steers and 15 percent heifers with near 87
percent weighing over 600 lbs
