Della Elizabeth Croka, 91 of Slater, passed away, Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Salem Evangelical Church with Rev. Tony Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Weiker Funeral Home, 202 W. Emma St., in Slater. The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Salem Church Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Weiker Funeral Home, P.O. Box #177, Slater, MO 65349. Born Oct. 25, 1919, in rural Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Lydia Seibold Leimkuehler. She attended area schools. On June 7, 1947, at Salem Evangelical Church, she married Claude Alvin Croka who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1974. She was a seamstress for many years at Marshall Habilitation Center, retiring in 1984. She was very active in Salem Evangelical Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She served as an officer in Lay, Life and Work Ladies Circle and was on the Salem Cemetery board for many years. She belonged to A.A.R.P., Tuesdays Pitch Club and was a 4-H leader for many years.
Survivors include her sons Delmer Croka of Slater and Alvin Croka of Marshall; daughter Evelyn Fiegenbaum of Lebanon; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, one at infancy and Lawrence A.H. Leimkuehler; and twin granddaughters.
