Ruth E. Jackson, 89, of rural Marshall, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital on the Plaza in Kansas City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Marshall, with Dr. Mike Parris officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery with Steve Whyte, Clay Jackson, Bill Whyte, Scott Whyte, Mick Cropp and Correy Jackson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Angela Igo, Lindsay Massie and Ashley Christy. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born April 17, 1922, in Pettis County, she was the daughter of the late C.M. Sellers Jr. and Blanche Walker Sellers. On May 3, 1941, in Carrollton, she married Paul Andrew Jackson who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1995. Ruth lived in Saline County most of her life where she was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church and its Dorcas Sunday school class, as well as being active in the Clothes Closet and a member of Chapel Extension Club.

Survivors include her children, Donna Whyte and her husband, Russ, of Marshall, Drew Jackson and his wife, Shirley, of rural Marshall, and Jeannie Cropp of Glasgow; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Sellers of Sedalia; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Annabelle Rennison.
