Anna Marie Hamblen, 78, of Slater, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, with Tony Gallagher officiating, and graveside services following at Evergreen Cemetery in DeWitt. The family suggests contributions be made to The Living Center, Evergreen Cemetery or Salem Evangelical Church in memory of Anna. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Born Aug. 28, 1932, in Trier Reinlandfalz, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Matthiaes and Helene (Ulrich) Schrum. On Dec. 20, 1980, she married Frank Hamblen in Marshall, who survives of the home.She attended schools in Germany and had lived in Saline County most of her adult life and had been employed with Cycle Enterprise in Marshall. She was a member of the Salem Evangelical Church.

In addition to her husband ,she is survived by two sons, Reinholt Harkins of Gardner, Kan.; John Harkins of the state of Georgia.; one daughter, Linda Irene Chandler of Kansas City, Kan.; and two grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and four half-sisters.
