Wayne Lester Farr, age 73, of Marshall, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his home on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011. Born Jan. 7, 1938, he was the son of the late Lester and Minnie (Jones) Farr and was preceded in death by his seven sisters. He married Virginia McCorkle Kinder on Feb. 14, 1999, and was a member of First Christian Church. Wayne served in the US Army Reserve, graduated from the University of Missouri and worked as an accountant retiring from Marshall Habilitation Center in 2005. Wayne loved his computer, playing cards, cooking for family and friends, playing his fiddle and traveling. He is survived by his loving wife Ginny, daughter Rebecca Perkins and her husband, Phillip Perkins, grandchildren Abby, Phillip and Cole, great-grandson Avery, daughter Laura Lee Richardson and grandson Alexander, step children Charles E. Kinder and his wife, Dana, grandchildren Haley Jo and Hannah, Karen Smith and her husband, Donnie, and grandson Chad, Linda Higgins and her husband, Ronnie, grandchildren Kendra, Kayla and Colby, Phyllis Smoldt and her husband, Greg, grandchildren Rachel and Emmett, Amy Bellamy and her husband, Tommy, grandchildren Meghan, Mitchell, Dylan, Laney and Rheanna and great-granddaughter, Taelynn, and several nieces and nephews.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at First Christian Church on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at 4 p.m. with Willie Harlow officiating.
