Leonard Earl (Pete) Anderson, 81, of Marshall, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Marshall, with Dr. Mike Parris and Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens in Sedalia. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church. Born May 4, 1930, in Sedalia, he was the son of the late Joseph William Anderson and Dollie Eichholz Anderson. On Nov. 10, 1951, in Smithton, he married Mariam Wiechen who survives of the home. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558. He had lived in Marshall since 1951, moving from Sedalia, and was a member of First Baptist Church. He worked for Mo. Valley Hatchery for 30 years, Cargill Feed and retired as custodian for Marshall High School after 21 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Ruth Ann Anderson of Marshall; one sister, Helen Garrison of Smithton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Anderson and James Anderson.
