Mary Anna Dyer, 63, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery north of Marshall. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. Born Nov. 24, 1947, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Leland M. Johnson and Ruby E. Irwin Johnson. She was a graduate of Slater High School and attended Missouri Valley College and State Fair Community College. On June 11, 1973, she married Samuel C. Dyer who survives of the home. She had lived in the Slater and Marshall areas her entire life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Slater. She was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses in Marshall, a realtor with Home to Home Realty and a longtime Mary Kay consultant.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Samuel C. Dyer Jr. of Springfield, Debbie Dyer Sweeney of Kansas City, Nancy Dyer of San Francisco, Calif., Rebekah Dyer Vandergriff of Overland Park, Kan., Staci Hooper and John Makings, both of Marshall and Matt Dyer of Grain Valley; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Erna Jean Huff; and one brother, Leland Dale Johnson.
