Carol F. Howery, 68, of Marshall, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Bob Stewart and William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Marshall. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born Feb. 5, 1943, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Glavin and Dorothy Huffman Glavin who survives of Marshall. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. On Feb. 10, 1961, she married John R. Howery Jr. who preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2005. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and retired as office manager at Blind Pony Nursery. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by four children, Eddie Howery of Marshall, Keith Howery and his wife, Kathy, of Camdenton, Wendy Schell and her husband, Shawn, of Marshall and Kristin Howery of Carrollton; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Jeremy Howery, Christopher, Jared and Zachary Howery, Jill and Morgan Schell, and Kayla, April and Dallas Cowan; three great-grandchildren, Carter and Cort Howery, and Gracie Smith; one brother, Larry Glavin of rural Marshall; one sister, Mary Lynn Rudd and her husband, Barry, of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Schell; and a daughter-in-law, Charity Howery.
