Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at St. Luke United Church of Christ in Grand Pass, with Rev. Liz Deveney officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial gifts to St. Luke United Church of Christ in Grand Pass or Cottey College.
She was born in 1916 in Mukilteo, Wash, and was the daughter of the late Walter and Selma Windblad. In 1938, in Santa Monica, Calif, she married Orrin A. Berthiaume. She was a homemaker and avid gardener. She was an active member of PTO for 51 years. She was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ in Grand Pass.
She is survived by three daughters, Lorene F. Lais and her husband, Harlan, of Dodge City, Kan., Karen L. Fevold and her husband, Dean, of Bentonville, Ark., and Andrea L. Mockridge and her husband, Mike, of Waverly; a niece, Lynn Leiser (Kurt), of Seattle, Wash.; five grandchildren, Lee Bobbitt of Jefferson City, David Karlton and his wife, Stine, of Denmark, Elaine Roddis and her husband, Ben, of New Zealand, Patrick Londeen and his wife, Maree, of New Zealand, and Mary Beth Sprecher and her husband, Steve, of Blue Springs; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice M. and Philip L. Karlton; her parents; her step-father, Mack Moberg; sisters, Gladys Bolstad and Virginia Johnson; and a niece, Shelley Leiser.
