Mary J. Adams, 88, of Marshall, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Midway Baptist Church south of Marshall, with Rev. Steven Soto officiating. Graveside service will be held at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Okla. Memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church near Marshall in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born July 18, 1923, in Blue Lick, she was the daughter of the late George Amos Chambers and Leona Montgomery Chambers. She was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. On Aug. 1, 1945, she married Vol Leslie Adams who preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1980. She had lived in Marshall the last five years, moving from Broken Arrow, and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. While she was in Broken Arrow, she was a member of Northside Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanne Eidson and her husband, Charlie, Joyce Eidson and her husband, Freddie, and Glenna Robinson all of Marshall; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Knull of Englewood, Colo., and Norma Stull of Littleton, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Eldridge, and one brother, George Vernon Chambers.
