Approximately 14 members of Malta Bend FFA picked sweet corn Wednesday evening to donate to Community Food Pantry in Marshall. Thursday, July 21, the chapter delivered nearly 1,100 pounds. From left to right are Tyler Jenkins, a Malta Bend freshman and FFA chapter officer; Danny Kiehl, a Malta Bend junior and FFA chapter president; Terry Jenkins, Malta Bend Ag Advisor; Kelsey Forqueran, State FFA secretary; and Ron Duvall of the food pantry.

The corn is grown at MME in Malta Bend, which provides land for the local chapter, according to Terry Jenkins, who also said Todd Marshall and Shawn Malter primarily care for their crops. Seeds are provided by Steve Malan and Pioneer Seeds, and Central Missouri Agri-Service provides chemicals and fertilizer.
