As the Lafayette County group of Missouri Young Farmers is still funding its own program, they keep looking for new ways to find support.
The Agri-Leaders have announced two upcoming events, the First Annual Golf Classic on August 4th and the First Annual Mini Crop Tour on August 5th.
The Golf Tournament is a three person scramble and will be held at Indian Foothills Golf Course in Marshall, Missouri. Registration and refreshments will start at 7:30 a.m. and be open until the shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Lunch will be served as well as a rib-eye supper when all the teams are done. Also that day a silent auction will be held in the club house at Indian Foothills.
The Mini Crop Tour will open with registration and continental breakfast at 7 a.m. The tours will begin at 8 a.m. Tour stops include: Show-Me Ethanol, Edwards Seed Treatment, Heins Family Farms, and Fahrmeier Farms. Amid the tours that day the annual Agri-Leader Field Day will be held at 11:30 a.m.
A bonus during the field day this year will be an equipment show just north of the ball diamonds. Registration for this Tour is open all day, with half day rates available.
Rooms are available at the Comfort Inn Marshall Station; ask for the Santa Fe Agri-Leader block to receive a special rate.
Registration for both events is still open; to pre-register you can visit the website: www.santafeagrileaders.org.
