Marie E. Barr, 91, of Marshall, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, with Fr. Kevin Gormley officiating. Prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with visitation following from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born March 19, 1920, in Pilot Grove, she was the daughter of the late William Lawrence Wittman and Christine Schuster Wittman. She was a graduate of Mercy Academy in Marshall. On June 28, 1948, she married Clarence J. Barr who survives of the home. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, Carol Marie Wolfe and her husband, Ted, of Marshall, Bob Barr and his wife, Renee, of Marshall, Paul Barr and his wife, Maria, of Joplin, Cathy J. Lynch of Blue Springs, Mark Barr and his wife, Tina, of Blue Springs, and Lisa McSparin and her husband, Brett, of Blue Springs; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marguerite Kouba of Houston, Texas, Catherine Berberet of Long Beach, Calif., and Ruth Weislocher of Marshall; one brother, Bill Wittman of Jefferson City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Chuck Lynch; one great-grandson, Evan Charles Lynch; three sisters, Bernice Lehane Crain, Helen Kent and Alice Heinzler; and two brothers, Leonard Wittman and Robert Wittman.
