SURE program for 2009 crop year
The Supplemental Revenue Assistance (SURE) Program provides assistance to producers who have suffered an overall revenue loss due to disaster conditions.
Because the calculations are based on the national average market price, applications cannot be processed until the end of the crop marketing year.
Therefore, FSA has been processing applications for the 2009 crop year.
To apply, producers must sign the application by July 29, 2011
In order to participate in the SURE program:
--producers must have suffered at least a 10 percent production loss on an economically significant crop physically located in a county with a Secretarial disaster declaration, AND
--Suffered a revenue loss on their farm.
For the SURE program, a "farm" is defined all crops a producer has an interest in.
Saline County received a Secretarial disaster declaration for 2009.
In summary, in 2009, if you experienced at least a 10 percent production loss on at least one crop, and an overall revenue loss for your operation, you may be eligible for compensation from the SURE program, but you must apply by July 29, 2011.
