Elizabeth B. Boyd, 99, of Sedalia, formerly of Saline County, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia, with Rev. Father William Miller officiating. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Crossroads Hospice or Rose Garden at Liberty Park in care of McLaughin Funeral Chapel. Born Aug. 15, 1911, in Frankfort, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Fritsch Kapeller. In Sept. 1933 she married James Boyd who preceded her in death on July 23, 1980. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sedalia. She had worked at Windsor International Shoe Factory. She had lived in Sedalia since 1982 moving from Windsor.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Dooley of Sedalia; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son, James "Jim" Boyd, and four brothers, Raymond, Benjamin, Carl and Albert Kapeller.
