Kingsville Livestock Auction: Cattle Auction Report for 06/28/2011

Receipts:  1493    Last Week:  1165    Year Ago:  1134

   Compared to last week, steers 400-600 lbs sold 4.00 to 11.00 higher;
steers over 600 lbs 3.00 higher; heifers 400-650 lbs sold near steady
to 1.00 higher; heifers over 650 lbs not a good comparison with last week.
Feeder supply included several pot loads of heavier feeders.  Demand good
to very good.  Slaughter cows traded 2.00 to 3.00 lower.  Cows and bulls
were 13 percent of receipts.  In the feeder supply, steers and bulls
were 55 percent of the run; heifers 45 percent.  Near 48 percent of feeders
weighed over 600 lbs.  No sale next Tuesday the 5th of July.
