Mary H. Walker, 89, of Hastings, formerly of Marshall Junction, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Mary Lanning Memorial Health Care in Hastings.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011, at All Saints Chapel at Good Samaritan Village, in Hastings, with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at All Saints Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Villa Assisted Living Facility at the Good Samaritan Village in Mary Helen's name. Condolences may be sent to www.lbvfh.com. Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements. Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall is in charge of local arrangements.
Born July 22, 1921, in Marietta, Okla., she was the daughter of the late David Lawrence Montgomery and Ethel Brintle Montgomery. On Dec. 22, 1946, she married Emmett Walker, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Marietta High School, and then pursued her college degree at Oklahoma Baptist University in Oklahoma City, Okla. She lived in the communities of Dale, Okla., Marshall Junction and St. Mary's from 1946 to 1959. Over New Year's of 1960 they moved to Marengo, Ill.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Walker of Danvers, Ill., and David Walker of Clay Center, Neb.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil, and one sister, Myrtle.
