Ruby Christeen Jackson 88, of Marshall, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice. Born Jan. 9, 1923, in Henry County, she was the daughter of the late Martha Anglen Scott Lowery. On Sept. 28, 1939, she married Wesley Jackson who preceded her in death on July 23, 1975. She had lived in Marshall since 1946 and was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, James Wesley (Jim) Jackson and his wife, Parilee, of Marshall; one daughter, Carolyn Lucille Surber of Manardville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; seven brothers, Virgil Scott and his wife, Wanda, of Marshall, Bobby Dale Scott and his wife, Barbara, of Warsaw, Howard Scott and his wife, Mary, of Des Moines, Iowa, Wray Scott and his wife, Joyce, of Olathe, Kan., Don Scott and his wife, Janet, of Manardville, Tenn., Jack Scott and his wife, Judy, of Norman, Okla. and Charles Scott of Houston, Texas; one sister, Fern Cochran of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Scott; one son, Sgt. Bobby Gene Jackson, USMC; one daughter, Barbara Ann Conway; one son-in-law, Mst. Sgt. Larry Surber USAF; and two brothers, Vernon Scott and Clarence Scott.
