William Henry Davenport, 86, of Marshall, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be held in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born Jan. 9, 1925, in Blue Lick, he was the son of the late James Henry Davenport and Christina Rudd Davenport. On March 28, 1954, he married Barbara Lee Alspaw who survives of the home. He lived in Saline County and worked in concrete construction for most of his life. He attended First Baptist Church and First Assembly of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lola Christine Jones and her husband, Robert Lee, Terry Lee Davenport, Vickie Lynn Gochenour and her husband, Kelly, William Henry Davenport Jr., Roger Allen Davenport and Lori Ann Gibson and her husband, Timothy, all of Marshall; one daughter-in-law, Sarah L. Davenport of Marshall; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Treeca Powell of Camdenton and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Randall Scott Davenport; one grandson, Kendall Lewis Jones; one brother, Robert Davenport; and one sister, Dorothy Wallace.
