Kathryn (Kay) Halsey, 87, of Marshall, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Born Dec. 1, 1923, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late O.M. Bowler and Margaret Pirtle Bowler. On Aug. 26, 1949, she married Paul N. Halsey who preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1988. She had lived in Marshall her entire life and was a cook at Bueker Middle School. She was a member of the First Christian Church and its New Century Sunday school class. She volunteered with the Foster Grandparent Program, The Lighthouse Shelter and Salt Fork YMCA.
Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Betty and Don Kennedy of Sedalia, Charles McGraw of rural Marshall, Juanita Bramble, Ted Pointer and Mary Ann Piper, all of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Georgie Dodson.
