Jim Harrington, 68, of rural Sweet Springs, died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Born April 7, 1943, in Tuscola, Ill., he was the son of the late Elmer Harrington and Irene Still Harrington. In 1977, he married Patricia Ann (Patty) Anderson who preceded him in death on May 2, 1998. He lived in rural Sweet Springs most of his life and was a material handler for General Motors for over 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.
Survivors include four sons; Spike Harrington and Robert Garrett both of Kansas City, Jay Harrington of rural Sweet Springs and Lee Harrington of rural Sweet Springs; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Janet Flett of Ashland; along with several nieces and nephews.
