Dakota Gerald Heimsoth, 17, of rural Concordia, died Friday, April 29, 2011, at I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Rev. Patrick Niles officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be to The Dakota Heimsoth Scholarship Fund or family choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Born March 6, 1994, in Sedalia, he was the son of Darryl Heimsoth who survives of rural Concordia and Lisa (Heimsoth) Alkire who survives of rural Warrensburg. He was a junior at Concordia High School where he was a member of the golf team and FFA. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Dakota loved his family, friends and his truck.

In addition to his father and mother, he is survived by one sister, Amanda Heimsoth of Concordia; two brothers, Craig Heimsoth and Cory Rehmsmeyer both of Concordia; paternal grandparents, Harvey and Judy Heimsoth of rural Concordia; maternal grandparents, Jeff and Cherie Cushing of Overland Park, Kan.; maternal step-grandfather, Harland (Mouse) Mieser of Concordia; stepfather, Ron Alkire of rural Warrensburg; stepsister, Cassie Braga of New Bern, N.C.; stepbrother, Vinnie Alkire of Coon Rapids, Minn.; one niece; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
