Gertrude M. (Trudy) Borgman, 64, of rural Slater ,died Friday, April 29, 2011, at Big Bend Retreat Nursing Home in Slater.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 2, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church near Saline City with Pastor Mark Hass officiating. Burial was in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt Huston, Nick Huston, Stan Hinnah, Tony Day, Randy Borgman and Doug Borgman. Visitation was Sunday, May 1. 2011, from 6 until 8 P.M. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to National Brain Tumor Society.
Born Aug. 15, 1946, in Knoxville, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Rev. E.L. and Helen Thompson Wittenburg. On June 19, 1966, at St. Paul Lutheran Church near Saline City, she married Ralph Borgman, who survives of the home. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church near Saline City. She was a member of the Ladies Aide of the church and the Thrivent Chapter Board. She retired from the Wood & Huston Bank in Marshall after 42 years of service as a bookkeeper.
She is survived by one son, Stephen Borgman and his wife, Rachelle, of rural Marshall; one daughter, Anita Smith and her husband, Kyle, of Sturgeon; four grandchildren; and four brothers, Everett Wittenburg of Blue Springs, Lloyd Wittenburg of Montalba,Texas, Carl Wittenburg of Monticello, Iowa, and Henry Wittenburg of Oak Grove.
