Lucille Wolfskill, 88, of Slater, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Bethel Evangelistic Center in Slater, with Rev. David L. Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Tennill, Ronnie Tennill, Tony Tennill, Charlie Guthrie, Jeremiah Johnson and David Moore. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Slater Veterans Memorial Park or Akeman-McBurney Medical Clinic in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born July 24, 1922, in Slater, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Icy Johnson Tennill. On Aug. 20, 1960, she married Maynard Wolfskill who preceded her in death on April 14, 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater. She worked at Town and Country Shoe Co. in Slater and Big Bend Retreat. She later worked as a coordinator/cook at Slater Senior Center.
She is survived by two sons, George (Toad) White Jr. of Slater and Bobby Joe White of Fulton; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marjorie Crigler of Slater.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
