An accidental shooting sent one Saline County resident to the hospital Saturday afternoon, April 23.
Deputies were notified of an accidental shooting on Meyer Lake Road shortly after 1:30 p.m. The victim and another man were firing a .22 caliber handgun out the window of the victim's residence.
According to sheriff's reports, the man was attempting to clear a misfired shell when the weapon fired, shooting the other man in the leg.
Alcohol was involved in the incident, deputies said. The shooter had a blood alcohol concentration of .082 percent, according to the sheriff's report. The legal limit for driving in Missouri is .08 percent.
The weapon and shells were collected as evidence.
