Neale Eugene Sowers

Neale Eugene Sowers Jr., passed into the Lord's kingdom on Tuesday, April 19, 2011.

Neale served and protected our country as a Vietnam era member of the U.S. Army. Neale was a member of Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church. He served as a member of the parish council for two terms and was a member of the Men's Club. Neale was a graduate of the Block School of Business. He was retired from the United States Treasury Department. Previous to that, he was a carpenter and a working construction superintendent. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Neale was married to Ann Heinzler and they had two children, Patrick and Rebecca, and three grandchildren, Jayden, Josiah and Jewel. Neale was very involved in his children's lives. He elected to work hours so that he was able to coach his children's baseball and soccer teams, and attend band performances and other school activities. He was also an active member of the children's booster clubs and PTA's. Neale courageously battled IGM Multiple Myeloma for eight years. He was described by his family, friends and health care professionals as a strong, kind, caring and ethical person. Per his wishes, Neale died at home in the house that he had built surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neale Sowers and Evelyn Richart Sowers.

A private memorial graveside ceremony will be held in Marshall, MO. Services are being arranged by Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall, Memorials may be sent to Gift of Life Transplant House, 705 2nd Street SW, Rochester, MN 55902.
