Loas Marie Standley, age 94, of Carrollton, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011, at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 N. 65 Hwy., Carrollton. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Trotter Cemetery, with Rev. Randall Blakeley officiating. Born August 21, 1916, in Hale, she was the daughter of Charles E. and Lovie Ellen (Howland) Snider. She attended Star Country School. She lived most of her life in Carrollton, except for the 30 years she lived in Marshall and spent her remaining years in Carrollton. She was employed as a nurse's aide, a waitress at Bill Roe Restaurant and a Truck Driver. On June 11, 1938, in Carrollton, she married Ray E. Standley who preceded her in death. She later married Henry Hopkins of Nelson. She is survived by her children, Jane Ellen Snider of Marshall, Faye M. Grote, Della R. Millard, Carl Lee Standley and Lois J. Blair, all of Carrollton; 24 grandchildren, several great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Bowlen of Colfax, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sons; twins; Billy Gene and Bobby Joe, Earl Edward and Dennis Robert; 3 brothers, 4 sisters, one granddaughter; one grandson; two great-grandsons; one great-great granddaughter; and one step-great-granddaughter.
