Stella Ann Wilhite Gorrell, 72, of Marshall, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Born Aug. 2, 1938, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Robert Napoleon Wilhite and Lillie Lorene Saylor Wilhite. She was a 1956 graduate of Marshall High School and later attended Missouri Valley College. On Feb. 28, 1958, she married Loyd Wilson Gorrell who preceded her in death on June 18, 1980. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a homemaker and co-owner/operator of Gorrell family farm. She was a member of Patsy Gregg Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and was a Methodist.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Gorrell Fowler and Theresa Gorrell Winning both of Marshall; former son-in-law, Barry Winning of Marshall; four grandchildren, Lindsey Winning Parton and her husband, Dustin, Brenton Fowler and his wife, Haley, Alex Winning and his fiancee, Claire Yu, and Nicholas Fowler; two great-grandchildren, Lillie Parton and Bryer Fowler; one brother, James O. Wilhite and his wife, Judy, of Marshall Junction; and many nieces and nephews.
