Marshall man hurt in motorcycle-car crash

Thursday, April 14, 2011

A Marshall man was seriously hurt Wednesday, April 13, when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Jackie L. Ussery, 36, was taken by Saline County Ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred at the intersection of College Street and Redman Avenue.

Troopers said Ussery failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2004 Pontiac driven by Elizabeth A. Reynolds, 22, of Marshall.

Both drivers were wearing safety devices, troopers said.

A Marshall police spokesman said troopers were called in to investigate the accident because a Marshall police officer was attempting to stop the motorcycle for alleged imprudent driving shortly before the accident occurred.
