Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Bass-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory in Hickory, N.C., with Pastor Edwin Elmore officiating. Any donations made to the Hospice Center should be marked "In Memory of Ms. Dee Muench" as the funds will be used to construct a garden in her name on the site where she spent the rest of her life.
Born April 7, 1941 she was the daugther of the late Donald and Fern Smith of St. Joseph.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Joe Pannell and Kelli Parks of Springfield, Va., Donald Clayton Pannell of Hickory, N.C., and Darren Ray Pannell of Perrysburg, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Patty McKenna Pannell; three granddaughters, Nichole Pannell Magnone, Makayla Pannell and Brooklin Parks; three grandsons, Ryan Pannell, Aaron Pannell and Jackson Pannell; three great-grandchildren, Jagger, Charlize and Jaxon Magnone; twin sisters, Dotti Bray and her husband, David Elder, and Billi Jo Herring and her husband, Don, all of the St. Joseph area; one brother, Edwin Smith and his wife, Debbie, of the St. Joseph area; three nieces, McKinsey Herring, Madison Smith and Jenson Smith, of the St. Joesph area; and one nephew, Troy Bray, of the St. Joseph area.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Clayton Pannell, and her second husband, Charles Muench.
