Kyle Wayne Swigert, 26, of Killeen, Texas, formerly of Marshall, died March 16, 2011, as a result of injuries due to a vehicle accident.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 21, 2011, at Montgomery-Viets Chapel in Buffalo, with Rev. Robert Long officiating. Music for the service was "Amazing Grace" and "Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were John Leonhardt, Steven Blackerby, Jason Villatoro, Vic Williams, Wayne Williams and Jesse Williams. Burial was in Benton Branch Cemetery under the direction of Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo.

Born Feb. 24, 1985, in Columbia, he was the son of John and Tammy Leonhardt of Marshall. He was an Army veteran, serving two tours of duty in Iraq. In April 2009, he married his wife Brittany, of Killeen, Texas, with whom he was expecting a daughter.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by one step-son, Kaden, of the home; his grandparents, Charles and Frances Swigert of Marshall; and step-grandparents, Bill Leonhardt and Sue Weatherly of Pacific; his uncle, Richard Swigert and his wife, Debbie, and their children, Eric, little Debbie and Karter, all of Sedalia; and his aunt, Debbie Anderson, and her husband, Bruce, and their son, Steven Blackerby, all of Marshall.
