John (Leland) Hains, 54, of rural Marshall, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Dr. Mike Parris officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Youth Scholarship Fund. Born June 23, 1956, in Marshall, he was the son of Lamar F. Hains who survives of Malta Bend and the late Betty Louise Driskell Hains. On May 28, 1977, he married Roberta Lee Holland who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County his entire life and retired in December of 2010 after 35 years with ConAgra. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall.
In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by one son, Harold Lamar Hains and his wife, Laura, of Marshall; one daughter, Lois Ann Unger and her husband, Kaleb, of Liberty; one brother, Louis Edward Hains and his wife, Mary, of Waverly; one sister, Janet Lynn Standley and her husband Doug, of Ft. Worth, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Daniel James Unger.
