Raymond H. Closterman, 74, of Waverly, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Pastor William Koch officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Born June 28, 1936, in Grand Pass, he was the son of the late George B. Closterman and Lois Evelyn Ritchhart Closterman. On February 14, 1954, he married Anna Mae Weedin who survives of the home. He had lived in the Waverly and Grand Pass area most of his life and was retired from Lake City Arsenal Ammunition Plant where he worked for 25 years. He was a member of Waverly Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, David R. Closterman of Marshall; one daughter, Shirley Ann Vandeventer of Carrollton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald Closterman of Waverly and Royce Closterman of Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews.
