Arthur H. Studler, 81, of Marshall, formerly of North Platte, Neb., died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his home.
A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Thomas Hall, inside Waverly City Hall, in Waverly. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born Feb. 23, 1930, in Denver, Colo., he was the son of the late Arthur Robert Studler and Alta McAllister Studler Karlberg. On Dec. 23, 1978, he married Dorothy L. Breshears who survives of the home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving from 1947 to 1951. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for nearly 30 years as a switchman/brakeman. He had lived in Marshall the last 11 years moving from North Platte, Neb.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gerald (Skip) Perkins of Ozark and John Perkins of the St. Louis area; five daughters, Robin Brotherton of Waverly, Debra Brotherton of Helena, Mont., Norma Aiello of Atlanta, Mich., Vickie Needles of Thayer, and Linda Knoles of Hershey, Neb.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson.
