Santa Fe Agri-Leaders get $2,500 Monsanto grant

Local farmer Jeff Bergman (center) won the $2,500 "America's Farmer Grow Communities" grant. On Thursday, March 4, Jami Deters (right), Monsanto local field advisor for Lafayette County, was on hand at Santa Fe Agri-Leader's last winter meeting to present the check to the club. Pictured at left is Craig Peters, president of the Agri-Leaders. The Monsanto program, which began two years ago gives local farmers a chance to enter to win the $2,500 grant and present the award to a club or cause in their community. The money will be used to benefit the many programs the Santa Fe Agri-Leaders sponsor.
