Burl F. Campbell, 73, of Miami, died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Miami Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Saline County Relay for Life and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born April 7, 1937, in Fayetteville, Ark., he was the son of the late Clarence Campbell and Maudie Ruth Franklin Campbell. On June 23, 1966, he married Virginia Irene Grandstaff who survives of the home. He had lived in the Miami area the last 23 years and was retired from Marshall Habilitation Center. Prior to moving to Miami, he had lived in Arkansas and Kansas. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had attended Miami Community Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Elsie Martens and her husband, Richard, Elaine Riley and her husband, Matt, and Margaret Hirt and her husband, Mike, all of Miami; one son, Burl Campbell and his wife, Rose, of Windsor; three children from a previous marriage; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Larry Campbell of Bluff City, Kan., Ben Campbell of Ponca City, Okla., and Marty Campbell of Kiowa, Kan.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
