Betty Louise Hains, 74, of Malta Bend, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at her home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Dr. Mike Parris and Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Visitation was held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Youth Scholarship. Born March 8, 1936, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late John Driskell and Anna Eaheart Driskell. On Sept. 4, 1955, she married Lamar F. Hains who survives of the home. She had lived in Saline County her entire life, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshall and its Dorcas Sunday school class.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, John Leland Hains and his wife, Roberta, of rural Marshall, Louis Edward Hains and his wife, Mary, of Waverly, and Janet Lynn Standley and her husband, Doug, of Ft. Worth, Texas; three grandchildren, Harold Hains, Lois Unger and Jeff Elliott; two great-grandsons, Garrett and Grady Elliott; three sisters, Elsie Heuman of Slater, Willie Ann Dautenhahn of Marshall and Frances Black of rural Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Daniel James Unger, and one brother, John E. Driskell.
