Leona F. Howard, 85, of Marshall, formerly of Chariton and Howard County, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Born Oct. 27, 1925, in Sedalia, she was the daughter of William E. O'Dell and Mattie Ellen Whitlock O'Dell. In 1943, in Olathe, Kan., she married Vernon Howard who survives of the home. She had worked at Keller Hospital in Fayette and Colonial Manor in Glasgow for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Lorna Jo Howard and Ona Beadle of Hannibal, Vernon Dallas Howard Jr. and his wife, Florence, of New Franklin, and Nancy Woods and her husband, Jim, of Osceola, Iowa; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Betty Ball, of Kansas City, and Beulah Tindall, of Sunrise Beach; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Howard and Sandra Williams.
