Louise Scotten Burton, 96, of Cameron, formerly of Saline County, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Rev. Gail Cross officiating. Bethany Weiker, pianist, will play "How Great Thou Art" and "Abide With Me." She will accompany Sylvia Cross, violinist, as she plays "What A Friend We Have in Jesus." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Butler, Robert Rader, Gerald Gerhard and Jeff Harris. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
Born May 14, 1914, in Frankfort, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Christina Theiss Bohlken. On April 20, 1935, in Huntsville, she married Orville E. Scotten who preceded her in death on April 20, 1970. In October 1980 she married Harold D. Burton who preceded her in death on January 30, 2000.
She is survived by one son, Russell L. Scotten and his wife, Elaine, of Menlo Park, Calif.; one daughter, Karel L. Reuck and her husband, Mike, of Lebanon; four grandchilren, Kirk Scotten and Amy Scotten, both of Menlo Park, Calif., Tonya Lohman and her husband, Brian, of Cameron, and Tracy Cross and her husband, Dan, of Springdale, Ark.; five great-grandchildren, Henry Lohman, Tucker Lohman, Ainsley Lohman, Nicholas Cross and Megan Cross.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, Francis Bohlken; two sisters, Arta Gerhard and Minnie Harris; and one great-grandaughter, Heidi Lohman.
