Irene Marie Lohman, 87, of Sweet Springs, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at The Lutheran Good Shepherd Home in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma with Pastor Rick Swanson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or The Lutheran Good Shepherd Home. Born Jan. 7, 1924 in Concordia, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph Harms and Emelie Lovercamp Harms. On Feb. 24, 1946, she married Clarence Lohman who survives of the home. She had lived in the Sweet Springs area her entire life where she had worked at various businesses in the community as well as being a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she had been active in its Ladies Aid and had served as a project leader for Weber 4-H. Irene was an avid quilter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Norma J. Boyer and her husband, Lee, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Janice Bybee and her husband, Lewis, of Sweet Springs; one son, Gerald H. Lohman of Sweet Springs; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alfred Harms, Lester Harms and Leonard Harms, all of Sweet Springs; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Morgan Schlueter and one brother, Raymond Harms.
